The San Jose McEnery Convention Center and surrounding area is easily accessible by taxi, light rail (www.vta.org), Caltrain (www.caltrain.com), airport shuttle, and bus service.

Arrival by Air

CHI07 delegates arriving at the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport may travel to the Convention Center area by Airport Flyer shuttle or Taxi. Please click here to download airport transportation options and schedules.

The free VTA/SJC Airport Flyer takes off for Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport daily from 5:00 am until Midnight - weekdays, every 15 minutes; weekends, every 15 minutes. Catch the Airport Flyer at VTA's Metro/Airport Light Rail stop and at the Santa Clara Caltrain station.

Taxi service in San Jose is easily accessible and very affordable. Approximate taxi rates in downtown San Jose are as follows: $2.00 first 1/10 mile, $0.25 each 1/10 mile thereafter. Add $1.50 airport tax fee for all taxis to and from the airport. CHI attendees can catch a taxi at the main entrance to the Marriott or Hilton hotels, or by calling Yellow Check Cab 408-777-7777.

Arrival by Train

Directly across the street from the McEnery Center visitors can access the VTA Light Rail (www.vta.org), which services the entire Santa Clara Valley with 62 stations. The light rail operates 365 days per year, and adult fares are $1.75. Day and week passes are also available. Light rail service connects with VTA buses at all stations. Light rail also connects with Caltrain at the Tamien and Downtown Mountain View Stations, as well as to the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) and Capitol Corridor Intercity Rail Service at Lick Mill Station.

CHI07 delegates traveling from the North Bay / San Francisco area may use the San Jose DIRIDON Caltrain station. The Caltrain station is within easy walking distance, located just 7 short blocks from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Caltrain tickets range from $2.25 to $9.75 one-way, depending on distance traveled. Arrival by Car

500 parking spaces are available directly below the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Entrances to the main Convention Center garage are located at 408 South Almaden Boulevard or 350 South Market Street. The current rate is $1.00 per 20 minutes up to $18.00 per day maximum. After 6:00 pm and on weekends the rate is .50 per 20 minutes up to a $18.00 per day maximum.
