Overview
Our goal is to put together a technical program with the broadest possible appeal. However, almost all of that program has to be put together from submissions made by people like yourselves and reviewed by your peers, which means that, in order to have a broad program, we first need to receive a broad range of submissions. If you are familiar with CHI's terminology and know what you want to submit, please refer to the list on the right and follow the links for your submission - otherwise please read on.
We know that we will receive a staggeringly large number of submissions and all work submitted to CHI is peer-reviewed. As a result we must ask that you only submit your work once - please contact us if you are having difficulty resolving where to submit your ideas. The acceptance rate and criteria do vary according to the type of submission, which is primarily based on the type of content and the intent of the submitter.

alt.chi
alt.chi is CHI's breathing hole, the space for change, where new ideas can be tried out and experienced. For alt.chi 2007 we are seeking unusual, challenging and thought- provoking work that might not otherwise be seen at the conference. This year, we are experimenting with a novel open review process which allows authors as well as the entire CHI comunity to become actively involved in the selection of presentations.
